Beginner
Lessons
(Must be at least 6 years of age)
 |
Lessons
are individualized and private with an emphasis on safety. |
 |
Lessons
not only help the student to increase in their knowledge of handling the
horse/pony, and safety is heavily emphasized. |
 |
Lessons
will cover proper grooming of the horse/pony and its purpose. |
 |
Tacking
up (putting saddle and bridle on the horse/pony) will be supervised until the
student is independent. |
 |
Directing
horse/pony with the use of legs, seat and hands is taught in every lesson until
the student can use these aides independently. |

*Why
an individual private lesson?
Horses are herd animals, when in a group they will follow one another.
Similar to a trail ride, one horse follows another.
You are not directing the horse; the horse is only doing what the one in
front of it is doing. Therefore, an
individualized lesson allows the instructor to gauge the progress of the
student. This is the safest way to teach
beginner riders. |
